In early January 2016, I was approached by Devon Donnahoo to participate in a styled shoot at Mission San Juan Capistrano. If we trace back to the 4th grade California mission project days, San Juan Capistrano was the mission I constructed for school. With that being said, you could imagine my excitement to be included in a shoot with not only a beautiful backdrop, but also somewhere that holds a place in my childhood memories.
The ancient Spanish architecture of the mission combined with California palm trees captures something so unique to California, but my favorite thing of this shoot is the deeply textured elements put together by Lucky Day Events: metal chairs, clay dinnerware, loose florals, the reclaimed wood table, and of course, the slate grey place cards I calligraphed.
